The ASSID NSW Conference 2010: Providing SUPPORT Receiving SUPPORT Recognising SUPPORT was held on Friday 20th August at the Liverpool Catholic Club.

With over 160 participants from metropolitan and rural areas, this year's Conference introduced the Inaugural ASSID NSW Disability Support Worker Recognition Award. All nominations for the Award were of a high quality, but Leanne Leahey of Orange was the successful recipient on the day.

patricia at ndsOn Thursday 6th and 7th May 2010 Dr. Vivienne Riches and Professor Patricia O'Brien were invited to give keynote addresses at the NDS Accommodation & Social Participation Conference at Jupiters Casino, Brisbane.  Viviennne's  keynote entitled,  Managing Transitions set the scene for the conference covering the different stages of transition that we all face in our lives.  Vivienne outlined the types of support that can assist in making transition smoother.  This paper was relevant when placed in the context of the transformation that is occuring within services associated with accommodation.
